REVELATION
OF THE REDS

You would undoubtedly be surprised if we said that Entre-deux-Mers is first and foremost a place where growers produce red wines.

But it’s true. The local white wines – recognised with the Entre-deux-Mers PDO in 1937 – need no introduction, even though white is rarer in Bordeaux. Its red wine know-how remained a secret

for almost a century. During this time, winegrowers selected their plots and developed their wine production methods. This regulatory absurdity was rectified in 2023 after almost 100 years.

An ambition

Bordeaux had not been focused on a new dynamic or a common ambition for 36 years. Its winegrowers were extremely well prepared for the change. They raised the bar high: commitment in advance, tough specifications, decisive tasting.

Producers of Entre-deux-Mers Rouge must wait 24 months before putting their bottles on the market:

  • Define the blend of grape varieties
    a unique requirement for Bordeaux,
  • Select the best plots, prepare them,
    officially commit them in spring
    a unique requirement for Bordeaux,
  • Harvest and vinify the grapes, then patiently mature the wine.

Finally comes the ultimate tasting stage. Finally comes the tasting. Each vintage is approved by a jury of experts to guarantee that the quality is impeccable.

There is no doubt about it, red Entre-deux-Mers is first and foremost a wine of ambition.

Regionals

They all originated in our region: ; they have the accent, the personality and the strength of character. We look for this alchemy between cousin grape varieties in red Entre-deux-Mers.

Our wines are certainly fruity, but they also express nuances through undergrowth notes with a hint of truffle, menthol, and other smoky notes such as toast and roasted aromas.

Merlot,

Emblematic Merlot is utterly French, it exudes the history of Bordeaux wines, where its suppleness and roundness have made it very popular.

Cabernet Sauvignon,

Cabernet Sauvignon was established here in the 17th century and has since become the world’s most widely grown grape variety. Its ability to make structured wines for ageing is the backbone of many of our finest wines.

Cabernet franc,

known for its elegance and freshness, enriches wines with fragrant and spicy flavours.

Malbec,

Malbec is colourful, fruity and structured, with a knack for standing out in a blend.

Petit verdot,

Petit Verdot is a fierce grape variety and sometimes grabs the limelight in a blend with its characteristic texture. Carmenère, a rarer grape variety, is becoming more popular again. People love its powerful aromas and liveliness.
